I included this drawing because it represents a view that the music fan is not able to see from a performance. I wanted the viewer to see what it is like to actually play the instrument. I also wanted to illustrate a style that the novice player could try to emulate while practicing. Notice how the fingers are close to the fingerboard and all lined up except for the finger that is noting the instrument. I took the photograph I used for this drawing while at a picking party looking over the musician's shoulder in order to get his perspective and view. I hoped to give the viewer who is not a musician a sense of what it is like to play an instrument.
