David Grisman has had a vast influence on the acoustic music world. Nicknamed Dawg by his good friend Jerry Garcia, he has drawn on his influences from multiple genres of acoustic music to create his own style of music dubbed Dawg Music. In the process he has taken the bluegrass mandolin to new levels with his playing and influenced countless young players pushing the boundaries of the instrument.
